23 weeks

I have been feeling pretty good lately. My dad bought our crib a few weeks ago and I had my husband put it together this weekend. I couldn't wait to see it up and in the room. So tonight after work, I took out some of the stuff I have been collecting over the last few weeks, and put he room somewhat together. It is so cute. I am having alot of fun getting ready for the baby. I do wish we knew her name though! We can not decide. I have a list of names I like but my husband doesn't seem to LOVE any of them. I like Olivia, Skyler, Colleen, Hailey, and about 10 others I gave him on a list to narrow it down. So for now she is just baby girl Wheeler.

Half way there! It's a girl!

I am 20 weeks and 1 day today. We had our "big" ultrasound last week and found out it is a girl! I am so happy for a baby girl. She moves around everyday now and I can feel her once in a while on the outside too, which is so cool.

Here are some pics of me at 20 weeks and of our ultrasound:

*How far along?: 20 Weeks! I am half way through my pregnancy!

*Total weight gain: About 5lbs so far.
*How big is baby?: about 3/4 of a lb
*Maternity clothes?: Oh yeah I can not fit in regular pants at all now, but my shirts are still some just large regular womens.
*Sleep?: I sleep ok. I get up every 2 hours to go to the bathroom and lately I am getting some insomnia.
*Food cravings?: Avocados, vegetable rolls, and blue berries.
*Belly button in or out?: Still in.
*What I miss: Not to much. I don't really care about drinking but I do miss feeling like I can do any sort of activity sometimes.
*What I'm looking forward to: Seeing our baby girl for the first time.
*Milestone: Half way through my pregnancy!

16 weeks 5 days

I am feeling pretty good these days. I took a few pictures of myself today. Considering I am a photographer I really should do a better job, but for now, they are just hand held in the mirror. We leave in a week to go to Maine for a week, when we get back we have our BIG ultrasound. We are finding out the sex, and I can not wait!!

feeling bigger

Just this week I am starting to feel like I look pregnant and feeling like my skin is stretching. Last night I took a quick snap shot of my bare belly and was surprised to see I don't just look fat, lol.
I was 15weeks 4 days when this picture was taken. I am standing in what is going to be the future nursery. We are going to try and move out the desk this weekend and put the new glider/rocker we bought in there. After we find out what we are having we are going to get the crib with my dad. Can't wait! We find out the sex of the baby on July 27th, about 3 weeks from now!!

13 weeks

I am 13 weeks today! Yay, on to the 2nd trimester! I am hoping a start to feel better. I had energy the last 2 days, but it was the weekend so we'll see when the grind of the week starts again. On Weds I had my NT Scan. My mother came with me and the baby was so cute. It was very active, moving its body and arms around. My mom was very smiley and happy to see her grandchild. I just noticed my belly more this week. My husband said I look pregnant now. I think its a real reality check for him, lol. Here are pics from the scan and my 13week belly.

In my 12th week

I am in my 12th week now and I have read and am often told that I will start to feel better soon. I really hope they are right! I have zero energy and am constantly nausious (sp?). I seriously never make plans after work and most weekends I work myphotography job, so I literally just work, sleep and feel like crap. I don't know if family and friends understand why they never see me. I just can't do it. I can't entertain, clean the house, or do anymore driving then I already do. I miss feeling like myself, so hopefully I will return soon!

I do have my NT Scan (ultrasound) on Weds and my mom is supposed to come with me. I am looking forward to seeing my beautiful baby again. I am really excited that this time it will actually look like a baby! So amazing!

10 weeks 5 days

I had an OB appointment this morning. I always get nervous before going to the doctors. It went well though. The dr was super nice and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was 170 and "strong" according to the dr.

Here is a few "bump" pictures. I was surprised to see the difference from the first pic to today. I took the first pic when we first found out we were pregnant. I was 5 weeks or so.

9 weeks

I am 9 weeks today! Every week feels like a milestone. I can not wait to be 13 weeks and in my 2nd trimester. That will be a real milestone. I don' t have another Dr.'s appt until May 29th. I hope they let me hear the heart beat at that one. I will be almost 11 weeks at that time.

Otherwise, my pregnancy is moving along. I have nausea everyday if I start to get hungry, so basically I am always eating. I never realized that this could be why some women gain so much weight. Also, I did buy some maturnity clothes this week. I went to Motherhood in the mall, and got a really comfy pair of cargo pant that can also roll up to capris.

Food is a weird thing these days. Basically nothing seems to taste good. My "craving" has been for taziki sauce. You know, that yogurt, cucumber, garlic sauce. It is so good. I actually went to the diner by myself the other day and got a chicken souvlaki just for that sauce. Yesterday I went to the store and bought a package of it and toasted pita bread to dip in it. LOVE IT!

Friday we went to see Henry Rollins do his spoken word. It was amazing. Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY is so beautiful. I hope to see some other acts there in the future.

Now I am 7 weeks again

On Friday I had a follow up appointment with the dr to go over my sonogram and blood work and have an exam. Everything went well. They did tell me that based on the measurements of the baby that I was not as far along as first though. I changed the ticker on the right to the correct date, but left the one below as the original for now.

My new due date is 12/20/09. It is very exciting. It is the same date as my sister's birthday.

As a side note, since I have become pregnant, here are some things I have learned about when a friend/coworker/family member/stranger, tells you that they are pregnant. It is shocking how many people think it is ok to ask, "Was it planned?", "Was it a surprise?". Even worse someone at work said "I can't picture it, YOU with a baby." They obviously thought that they knew me and don't because anyone who knows me well does not have this opinion of me. Anyway, in the future if someone tells you they are having a baby, just say congrats, and how wonderful it is.

1st Ultrasound 7weeks

I am breathing again! We had our first ultrasound today and everything is great. The babies heartbeat was 125 and we got to see it beating at the end. It was totally amazing. I cried right after the tech left the room and my husband was amazing as well. It all feels real now. I have had such anxiety the last few days or even since we found out I was pregnant. I started reading all this stuff about miscarriages and I was convincing myself that something was wrong. It was such a relief to see that everything is the way it was supposed to be. Little baby inside of me, I love you already, and can not wait to meet you. Love, your mommy!

6 weeks

Today I am 6weeks pregnant. Overall I feel great. I can definately tell I am pregnant though. I have alot of tenderness in my chest, feel some cramps/tinges in my abdomen from time to time. I seriously can not button some of my pants already. From what I have read it is due to "bloat". It is the extra blood and fluid in your belly. My bras barely fit already too.

Yesterday I downloaded a few prenatal workouts from excercise tv. I did a 20 minute prenatal yoga yesterday and a 10 minute strengh workout as well. I think I will mix them up with my favorite workout called Ballet Strenght Workout that I also got from excercise tv.

I had my first appointment with the midwife on 4/13/09. They didn't do to much because take a ton of blood for various tests and screenings. I go back a week from tomorrow on 4/28/08 to have my first ultrasound. I can not wait to see our babies small heartbeating. I will be 7 weeks and 2 days at that time and we should see it. Of course I am worried about something being wrong constantly, so hopefully this will put me at ease some, after the ultrasound.

I am in shock! BFP!

For the pasted few days I felt like I was going to get my period. My tempertures were very wacky and I didn't even know if I really ovulated this month. I took a Clear Blue Digital HPT and it came out positive! The word pregnant was actually on it. I am seriously in shock right now. I go for a blood test at lunch. My boobies hurt, lol. I am so happppppy though! Just trying to stay grounded right now. Of course I took a pic:

TWW

Today I am 6 days past ovulation and I am in what is known as the two week wait (TWW). I have been sick with a head cold since the day after ovulation. I hope that this cold is some sort of a sign since it is different then my last two cycles.

I also decided to move on to a specialist after this cycle if we are not pregnant. It is a reproduction endocrinologist and is often abbreviated as RE. His name is Dr. Levine and he is part of the Hudson Valley Fertility group in Fishkill, NY. My appt is at the end of March.

I just felt it was time to be monitored more and not be guessing as to how the medications are working or not working.

Doing alot more this month.

This is my 3rd month on Clomid and I am really hoping this is THE month that we get pregnant. In the past months I just took the Clomid and a prenatal vitamin. Here is my fertility cocktail this month:

Clomid CD3-7
Prenatal Vitamin
400 mcg Folic Acid
1 Baby Aspirin a day
Evening Primrose Oil 3x a day
Robitussin 2-3 times a day

The baby aspirin has shown to help your uterus lining for better implantation. The EPO and Robitussin is for fertile cervical fluid. Sperm need cervical mucus to have an eggwhite or watery consistancy and the EPO and Robitussin is supposed to help with that.

Wish us luck!

Intro

I am starting this blog because I have been thinking about it for a while, to document my trying to conceive experiences. I also think I just need a place to go to express all the emotions that comes with this journey. I could easily do this in a public forum like myspace, but most of my "friends" on their do not know we are TTC (trying to conceive), and I want to keep it private. If you stumble on to this blog, most likely we are just people in the same stage of life, and don't know each other in the real world.

My history:
I got married in Oct 2007, and had not been trying to prevent pregnancy for about 1.5 years before that. In April of 2008 I did start talking to my OB/GYN about wanting to start a family in the near future. After an awful experience doing a saline sonogram, I cried my eyes out and decided to put it on the shelf for a little while. Also, we bought our first home in May 2008 so we got super busy with all that entailed.

December 2008, I had "the talk" with my husband, that I really wanted to start officially trying to have a baby. So I went to a new Dr that month by our new home, and he put me on 50 mg of clomid cycle day (cd 5-9).

It is now Feb 2009 and I just started my 3rd cycle of 50 mg of clomid. I am taking it cd 3-7 though this time, also I am taking evening primrose oil, and will take generic robitussen to thin out my CM (Cervical Mucus). I also just started a regular excersice program that I do at home, and it makes me feel alot more relaxed.

Thanks for reading my story. I will update as my journey continues.
Here are our sweet furbabies:
